Wakefield Estate
Wakefield Estate
Pinot Noir 2011
| Region: | South Australia & Western Australia |
Layered flavours of red cherry, spice and plum are superbly balanced with French oak, giving length to the finish.
At release, the wine is a bright red with a vibrant purple hue.
Wine Bouquet
The wine has lifted strawberry and cherry notes with an underlying savoury earthiness and restrained spice and cedar characters.
Wine Palate
The wine is medium-bodied with flavours of ripe cherry and fresh, light red berry fruits along with savoury toast and sweet spice characters. The palate is sublimely soft and silky. Subtle oak characters of cinnamon and cedar add to the overall complexity of this fruit-driven wine.
Cellaring Notes
This wine can be enjoyed upon release but will reward careful cellaring up to and possibly beyond 2016.

Nose an interesting mix of boot polish and sweet cherries. Well-defined tannins on the palate.Fruit of the Vine

Fruit of the Vine
A pale ruby colour with a nose suggestive of spiced cherries, the mid-weight palate fresh, direct and uncomplicated with red berry and herbal flavours of moderate intensity and length before finishing nicely dry.theplonktest

It's been 40 years since Wakefield of the Clare Valley in SA launched its Estate range...That's pretty cool, we reckon. This drop is a blend of pinot noir from the Adelaide Hills and Western Australia and it's a beaut. Plum, red cherry, French oak all add up to a winner. Cheers to another 40 years.

Fruit sourced from South Australia and Western Australia. Hints of cherry with aromatics otherwise somewhat muted. Palate fairly clean, hints of red fruit. But it's all suggestion, not substance. Touch of group/ tannin.Easy Wines

Subtle French oak across layers of red cherries, spices and plum. A quality pinot from a respected brand.

Queen of reds
From the Adelaide Hills, a pleasant mouthful of red cherry flavours. A touch of spiciness, soft and smooth, enjoy with rare beef.

With over three generations involved in the family business, the Taylors family knows a thing or two about producing wine from all over Australia. Light cherry in the glass, this Pinot blends grapes from cool climate vineyards in South Australia and Western Australia. Vanilla berry and spicy briar notes are evident on the palate, with a lightly textured mouth feel. Good drinking Pinot Noir....Cellar Talk

Light to medium-bodied pinot noir from Adelaide Hills and the Great Southern of Western Australia. Nice savoury spicy characters on the nose. Firm though fine tannins and a little oak with the subtle spicy cherry flavours on the palate. Fine and lingering. Can serve this chilled.
